International Long COVID Awareness Day began in 2023 as a patient-led, grassroots effort to bring visibility to the millions of people living with Long COVID and to call for recognition, research, and meaningful action.
March 15 was chosen collectively by the Long COVID community as a shared day of global recognition. It is a time to honor those living with Long COVID, acknowledge the profound losses caused by COVID-19, and underscore the urgent need for care, research, and policy change.
What started as a single day has grown into a broader movement. In many communities, March is now recognized as Long COVID Awareness Month, creating space for education, connection, and advocacy.
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Mass General Brigham are proud to partner in bringing together patients, clinicians, and researchers from across Boston and beyond. Long COVID Awareness Week reflects a shared commitment to elevating patient voices, deepening understanding, and strengthening the community working toward better care for everyone affected by Long COVID.

Each day centers around a theme and features speakers, activities, and opportunities to participate at your own pace. Events are designed to be inclusive and accessible so you can take part regardless of your energy level or abilities.
